I’m a BIG fan of the Tia Mowry at Home cooking show. A lot of people don’t know about it because she is not one of the big name chefs that is out there. She is a lot like me and has a husband and family so her recipes aren’t hard but they are very tasty. My two favorite recipes that were done on her show were the Slow Cooker Lentil-Beef Stew (you already know I’m a fan of the slow cooker) and Cory’s Famous Mac and Cheese which I put a twist on.
The Beef Stew recipe can be found here: http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/tia-mowry/slow-cooker-lentil-beef-stew.html. My kids loved this and my husband loved it and it lasted for a couple of days. I put all the ingredients in the slow cooker before I went to work and it was done by the time I came home.
The second recipe is her husband Cory’s Famous Mac and Cheese. The recipe can be found here: http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/corys-famous-mac-and-cheese.html. I made it once exactly as the recipe stated and it was good and then I made it again my own way with a little less ingredients. My personal changes were removing the sour cream and the mushroom soup and then swapping out the cheddar cheese with Velveeta (I’m just a fan of Velveeta but cheddar also tastes great). My favorite part of this recipe is that you make a cheese sauce instead of cutting up the cheese and letting it melt. This allows for the cheese to cover every single inch of the macaroni. My family can’t get enough of this dish.
Enjoy 🙂 A
